Lower Elementary
(928) 204-6464
Katrina is entering her third year at SCS, where she provides reading support in the Lower Elementary classroom. She finds it a blessing to witness the young students develop their independent reading skills during their time in LE. Years ago, Katrina studied Kinesiology at the University of Maryland, College Park, and later graduated from the Baltimore School of Massage. She spent a decade working with athletes at all levels, from weekend warriors to Olympic competitors. Having fallen in love with Arizona as a small child, Katrina eventually made the move out West and started a family. It was through her children that she realized reading doesn't come naturally to many people, which inspired her current career path. She has completed the Orton-Gillingham Comprehensive training through IMSE, taken Sally Shaywitz's class "Overcoming Dyslexia," and is currently studying Communication Sciences and Disorders at NAU. Outside of school, Katrina enjoys family board game nights, taking "me time" at the gym, and spending time outdoors with her husband.
