Amy, originally from Washington state, earned her Bachelors of Science from Walla Walla College in 2002. After spending 14 years in Hawaii, where she taught Home Economics and Physical Education, she developed a deep appreciation for hands-on learning and well-being. Her experience farming organic vegetables and fruits further enriched her understanding of sustainability and healthy living. In the summer of 2018, she relocated to Sedona, where she embraced new opportunities for growth. Earning her children’s yoga certification in 2021 and adult yoga certification in 2024 has deepened her commitment to fostering mindfulness and physical well-being in her students. Additionally, her Lower Elementary Montessori certification in 2022 has equipped her with the tools to nurture a love for learning in young minds, making every day in the classroom an inspiring journey. In her spare time, she loves to immerse herself in a good book or practice yoga, which helps her stay centered and inspired. Hiking in the beautiful landscapes around Sedona is another favorite activity, allowing her to connect with nature and recharge. She also enjoys crocheting, creating cozy pieces that reflect her creativity. Most importantly, she cherishes spending time with her sons, whether exploring the outdoors or simply enjoying each other’s company. Each of these activities enriches her life and helps bring more to her teaching.
Montessori qualifications: American Montessori Society trained for ages 6-9 through Arizona Montessori Teacher Education Program.
